New fabric by the metre: white campion
I'm very excited to bring you the first fabric by the metre offer from Leaping Foxes, for all your interior, craft or sewing projects!
Those of you who love Scandi or Modern Rustic interiors will, I hope, enjoy the soft colour palette of the new collection as it builds, with more patterns coming soon, inspired by nature and the changing seasons.
I've always loved wild flowers, and in particular white campion (Silene latifolia) - a simple, beautiful little flower with its distinctive 'bladder' that pops up in fields and hedgerow through spring and summer and emits a lovely scent later in the day.
With floral fabric never really going out of style and with the recent crush for botanic prints and wallpapers in the home, I loved the idea of launching my fabric by the metre offer with my very own floral pattern - and using a more unsung beauty from the hedgerow.
Each individual motif was hand drawn, capturing the variety of shapes of the flowers and buds. The fabric comes in two colourways, Fields of Gold and Fresh Mint Green, inspired by the colours of the beautiful Dedham Vale around Bures in Suffolk this summer.
The fabric is a weighty 300gsm linen union and is woven and printed in the UK, helping to support the British textile industry. The cloth will be ideal for a range of interior projects - from roman blinds and upholstery to covering lamps or cushions.
Choosing your colour palette
The colours were chosen to work alongside soft, neutral interiors, featuring white, grey, sage and blue, but the fun part is always about experimenting.
I would love to see anything you make - please do drop me a line.
